Goodbye to retiring Town Clerk

Susan+Awcock+Leaving+Do-7Uppingham’s Town Clerk for the last 13 years Mrs Susan Awcock has retired.

She handed over the keys to the Town Hall to her replacement Neil Wedge at a retiring party held in her honour at the Falcon Hotel on Friday 27th March.

Town and County councillors were there along with Town residents and market traders.

Sue was presented with an iPad following a collection organised by Neil and the Market traders gave her a weeks holiday in Norfolk.

During the speeches it was announced that Sue has generated £300,000 worth of grants during her time as Town Clerk. She also worked hard to ensure Uppingham Town Council is now a Quality Council.

Neil has shown himself to be an excellent successor.

We all wish Sue the very best for the future. She will be missed.
